I'll never again say no Army, etc is ever thorough.  This US Services briefing manual is about as thorough as it gets.  Particularly for 1944.

Would love to know who put this together.  Sounds like he spent some time here beforehand.  He even picked up on the 'Work or Fight'** policy.  Also like the yarn he opens with:  "......the American, discovering that the woman across the table in the diner was an Australian, immediately said, "But wherever did you learn to speak English?".

**  ".....When some strikes occurred, the government decided that strikers, or employers who  provoked a strike, were to lose their deferred or protected status and be called up instantly by the draft officials.  "Work or fight!" became the policy of a Labor government."
