I just came back from Product Demo / Recruiting event for Windows Phone.
The presentation was definitely very interesting. Microsoft has some novel ideas.
The people were super friendly with some seriously hot babes being there.
However two hiring managers I spoke to treated me with contempt when I mentioned contracting / consulting and that I have done Java. I wouldn't want to work for any of them.
I also spoke with the Windows Phone development manager who listened carefully to what I had to say and admitted that MS has done extremely lousy job marketing their product so far.
I think I will have to wait and see what Nokia will come up with in terms of hardware. I will most likely buy one phone. The way Windows Phone renders mobile pages is very different from Web Kit based browsers. If you want your web pages to look good on mobile IE too - you have to develop in a special way.

I think they will grab enough market share to make that a necessity.
In terms of positioning - MS wants to be between Apple and Google in terms of openness.
