I saw a job with CCNA in the subject line

Pay $12/hour

At least *ice.com has a "report this job" button now.  I don't know if their new "troll rating" feature makes a difference.  "Below market rates" is one of the choices and an additional comments/explanation box.  I gave them my 2 cents.  Then again if they (*ice) filtered the b.s. on the front end then they'd make less money. ;)

$12 an hour for an MCSE/CCNA.   Sometimes I really want to punch someone in the face over sh*t like this.

Why stress about it? Stupid breeds stupid, and sites like that are fertile breeding grounds. Recognize it for what it is and stay above it.

Seems like this business would be a good candidate for an employee-owned, democratically run company.

I know its a cliche to post bad job ads and they are not that hard to find.

I think what upsets me (and they don't always) is that this undermines my ambition to work toward "the next level" of education/training/certification.  Why bother if spending $1000 to the cost of tuition if the rewards are less than what I make now ?

I did hear from a borkette recently (unsolicited) and she left a message.  Funny how I can mentally highlight all the weasel words or qualifiers automatically now.

That sounds like the typical catch, purge of cash and release program.

Often practiced as a form of conservation to prevent the overharvesting of cash supplies.  ::)

You might consider taking up a different ambition. All of these acronym-laced certification levels are just an attempt to put skill sets into predefined boxes by people who can't understand them any other way. Playing along with the game will keep you perpetually boxed in.

Go for education that improves you personally rather than trying to keep up with the arbitrary flavor of the month. Eventually you will be so well-rounded and knowledgeable that you'll be immune to such silly games.
