I started poking around on the Compete America website and came across this page of statistics about the percentage of foreign nationals in American graduate engineering programs:

In almost all the states I looked at there were > 50% in PhD programs and > 30% in Masters programs.

I think it's a red herring when used to justify  huge increases in the number of foreign programmers.  We all know you don't need a graduate degree.  Some great programmers don't even have a B.S. degree. Gates didn't have one.

Good point, but you might want to find a different example of a good programmer.  Gates isn't a compeling example, lol! :rollin

Maybe, JBB, but I wonder just how many thousands of execs believe that he wrote Windows (or at least DOS) single-handed?

I know of several myself...
