Carly Fiorina campaigning for McCain
« on: July 11, 2008, 08:23:52 am »
This morning I heard an interview with Carly  Fiorina, who has joined McCain's campaign to focus on economic issues. She was defending his plan to make Bush's tax cuts permanent. My favorite part was when she said how important it is to create jobs for Americans.

When she was running HP, how many jobs did she ship offsore? How many H-1B visa holders did she hire?

Does she have an "official" role in the campaign? I heard a couple of weeks ago that she was on his possible VP list and almost puked.

Compaq used to be a good company. Hp used to own the printer market. I have two friends who were "old HP" employees who were basically driven out of HP because they made too much money. They loved the pre-Carly company and would have marched off of a cliff for HP. They tell me that the company has been gutted and doesn't even resemble the HP that many of us knew.

I can't think of any woman who has higher negatives than her - except possibly Hillary.

From the Mercury News:

"As a longtime backer of McCain, Fiorina "will travel all over the country, speaking to all sorts of people as a strong advocate for our economic principles," said Frank Donatelli, a veteran GOP strategist and lobbyist who became the new deputy chairman of the RNC."

The interviewer asked her if she wanted the VP spot and of course she answered like everyone does when asked that question -- "I am just happy to be working for a candidate with such experience and integrity". In other words "Hell yes. I'd crawl across glass to get the job"

Michelle Obama is quickly getting a lot of negatives. The women in the circle of family and friends, despise her. Michelle is that same category as Hillary and Carly, at least in my mind.
