I have been in the tech industry have my own
« on: July 25, 2006, 06:30:52 pm »
marketing firm and i can tell you that the most time effective way to collect clients and contacts is thru people/contacts you already know, have been introduced to or throw yourself in front of.
I have actually collected clients by telling them what they should be doing in their business and how I can do it for them. Straight cold calling and you know what sometimes it works.

Throw your CV on all the job boards this is a 1 in a wazillion shot at a follow up, but I have had success a few times in the past with various job boards.
Stay away from head hunters unless they come with a very large portfolio of success to their clients.

remain 100% positive and enthusiastic work damn damn hard. My motto is as soon as my client asks me to task something I do it, i don't deliver " I'll get right to it next week"

I believe in the 24hr rule. Business is ruthless and competitive stay ahead of your clients needs and offer solutions no matter how you have to find or source them

Hi, chick!

Thanks for the insights.  We all appreciate them, sincerely.

Is that Helena, MT or AR?

Your milage may vary.
Job boards are like putting a hook in the water.  I've gotten lots of gigs that way.
Same with recruiters.
Of course, it helps to have lots of commodity experience.
For some people, it is a low effort way to get gigs.

what brain matter is left for me today is has now been lost
helena is a cougar that was saved from death by a public outcry for donations to not have her euthanised because she outgrew her habitat at the sanctuary.

I support them and have her wildlife sanctuary listed on my marketing site with an appeal to all that are wild about wild animals.

thanks for the feedback!
