this post, I used my vivid imagination, like a child in the dark.
David wondered about a Maoist fundamentalist coup in China.
What about?
- islamist coup in Pakistan - remember, they already have nukes
- pro-US coup in Russia
- pro-US coup in Syria or Pakistan or Egypt or Saudi
- democratic uprising in Iran
- islamist uprising in Denmark, Holland or France
Less important,
- pro-US coup in Cuba
- pro-US coup in Venezuela or Ecuador
- drug-cartel-led coup in Mexico
Now, you can easily say, "Yeah, like
that's going to happen", but as David points out, we just can't predict.
So, any number can play. What off-the-wall possibilities can you think of and what do you think the consequences might be?
Just thought of one - a scientist discovers a mind-altering drug more powerful than any now known, and can be made ridiculously cheaply from, say, white clover, the stuff that shows up in the best of suburban lawns. Or from cow-water.
A direct replacement for Afghan opium and derivatives as well as for Colombian coca, and you don't have to smoke it like marijuana.
