Anybody know a good laptop with this profile?

I have an old Toshiba laptop I just love for these reasons ---

1- big 15" display screen
2- professional quality keyboard for touch typists
3- the "eraser" style cursor control button (instead of the touch pad thingie)

Anyone know any laptops fitting this description?

(Toshiba is one, but they run too hot... that's the one big problem with my old Toshie. Lenovo is the only other brand I can think of... I love them but they're rather expensive).

The non chicklet keyboard is probably the deal killer in modern laptops.

Also, yah know - there's no such thing as a non widescreen display on laptops any more.

Lastly, I bet you want a matte screen, not glossy? Good luck.

I don't have any recommendations, except that I really like my Lenovo Thinkpad, but when you decide to buy you might want to check this out.

Tough to match an old laptop these days. Everything has a wide aspect ratio or a crappy keyboard. I don't know of any new machines that are comparable to an old Toshiba.

I'm really partial to the Lenovo/IBM because of the g-h pointing stick in the keyboard.

I recently scored a used R500 from e-Bay which has all the features I wanted:
sata 12.7mm bay ( standard height )
backwards compatible with T60 peripeherals.
(the stick of course)
Screen option can be LED backlit (mine is broken so I'm replacing with this)
8 gigabytes of RAM maximum
64 bit processor

I need to replace the screen and the French Canadian keyboard...but in the meantime the bloody supervisor password is locked.  I'm stuck on the last step at the moment.
