In Detroit, the North American International Auto Show. All the serious manufacturers show there. Careful tho, GM showed the Volt as a "concept" but Obama's "auto executives" put it on the market, now it's in extravagantly expensive recalls, with no cure for battery fires in sight. I still don't get why put electric motors in line with planetary gearsets.
In Denver, the National Western Stock Show. Part 4H show, part rodeo. Horses, cows, that sort of thing.
Standing in line with me at the Stockyards Postal Station were a few right-off-the-ranch types, pointy-toed boots, big hats, soft-spoken and tolerant of the window clerk's struggles with her computer - to the tekkie in me, total drek, taking far to long to just boot up. I forked over some FRNs to bypass the credit card validation which wouldn't happen for an hour or two by observed performance.
The contrast between the shows is amazing!
And God Bless America!
