Mid level people are not fun to interview. You give them open ended easy under hand softball pitches to let them sing a song, tell me a success story, an interesting story - anything. I get nothing. I told the guy today 'this is not about technical accuracy' and he still blew it. I would have taken him, ready to hire and move on but the hiring manager said he knew bupkis about DBA and SYSADMIN.
I told manager to filter them and get back to me when he likes one so I don't drive downtown and waste my time again.
This would be more interesting if they were paying Senior money.
