AT&T Scraps Deal to Buy T-Mobile USA
« on: December 19, 2011, 08:20:53 pm »
Fox News article here.

Well, I'm relieved.  As a satisfied T-Mobile customer with a 60 year bad taste in the mouth from AT&T and Baby Bell dealings (wow, Ernestine does say it all for me), I wasn't looking forward to the merger.

The only bright spot in my AT&T experience was when a Long Lines VP got his sorry ass fired for lying to my timesharing company.  No, I will not stand in line, and I'm sure it will be long, to piss on AT&T's grave.   8)

The way I read it, AT&T wanted to expand coverage and Deutsche Telecom wanted to cash out on their investment for 100ยข on the dollar.  Never mind what the Feds said.

I was looking forward to the merger because it would expand their network.  Me nephew works for T-Mobile and can get me virtually free service.  Unfortunately I live in a T-Mobile dead zone (there are a lot of them in NJ), so I'm sticking with Verizon.

(And yes, I share your unbounded love for AT&T).

I'm relieved as well. I've been a T-Mobile customer for more than 10 years, and I don't want AT&T anywhere near them. WHEW!
