This was a good thread that deserves a repost.

I got this tip from a friend of mine who does sales for a training company. He said if you can't get in touch with who you're trying to reach, call and ask for the janitor. Now, this is obviously going to miss some places. For example, where I'm at right now, the owner of the building provides the cleaning services, but it might work in some bigger places. When you get the janitor, a little social engineering is in order. Who is this, oh shucks, I'm trying to get ahold of Mr. ABC sorry to bother you. Most janitors are sports fans(gross generalization, but probably a good bet), did you see how the local sports team did on Sunday, etc. etc. Do you have Mr. ABC's number? What extension is that.
Well, y'a'll are smart just put your own twist on it, but it's one more way to get past the gatekeeper.
