...annoy me.
I got a call that seemed to be a familiar number and once I heard the message:
1) 'I am borkette from agency bla bla blah. I heard you recently talked to my coworkers..bla'
Yeah. It's a script. It is also a lie. I haven't spoken with those jokers since 2008. They suck so hard I can't see ever working with/for/under them again. Period.
2) I received a spam / bcc email. If I want to opt out I can't because I don't know which email they used to include me.
I usually reply by spoofing the address of the sender and putting "REMOVE" in subject line. There is one agency that I had to label as a spam on the email web interface since they always did this. I still receive their email it just doesn't download to my computers.
I know it is their SOP for shotgun email as part of their hunt for a warm body to slam into whatever (hot! urgent! Fake!) opportunity they have in their little paws and I shouldn't take it personally but it is one of many things I hate about recruiters or the industry.
Hate the player. Hate the game.
Meanwhile I can't believe December marks three years at my current position already. I see how people become 'lifers', especially after their skills and salary have been permanantly devalued.
