GOOD on-line ASP.NET courses
« on: May 31, 2007, 09:26:51 am »
I converted from contractor to perm here, and was dumbfounded at the new employee orientation to learn that the (large, profitable) company will pay up to $10,000 / year for graduate courses.

I'm not having any luck finding C# ASP.NET courses at Boston-area universities, however. Harvard Extension's was pathetic. Others are Winforms or VB.NET, never C# and ASP.NET.

So I'm turning to the on-line schools. I think it has to be accredited for me to receive tuition reimbursement. I'm looking for a good course, so I'm not wasting my time.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Hoytster

but I found Intertech in my bookmarks. The courses aren't cheap.

In the meantime, you could Steal This Book.

Thanks, Dan, but I'm looking for semester-long courses, where I can absorb the material over the course of months instead of days. Those 4-day drills don't work for me; too little depth, too little time, too little learning.

I'm reading the 'State Management' article on the page of free educational links. Thanks!

I'm looking at this program:

www.brandeis.edu/rabbgrad...prog_id=15

It would be a massive amount of work, but I think it would be mostly interesting. At two courses per semester, it would be two years to get the degree. And I'd be fully utilizing my employer's $10,000/year tuition reimbursement program. ;)

Opinions? Interesting? Professionally helpful?

I don't think I want to get out of coding, but it seems that this degree might help me transition into project management, if I want to go that way. And I think project management is in good demand, and is not so likely to be exported to the subcontinent.
