http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/09/07/exclusive-displaced-cast-member-how-disney-replaced-me-other-americans-with-cheap-foreigners-on-h1b-visas/

"As I watched the grim faced Disney Executive, it was obvious that bad news was going to be delivered. The dead silence was broken when the Disney Executive made a harsh announcement. All of you in this room will be losing your jobs in the next 90 days. Your last day of employment for this company will be January 30, 2015. Your jobs have been given over to a foreign workforce. In the meantime you will be training your replacements until your jobs are 100 percent transferred over to them and if you don’t cooperate you will not receive any severance pay. Also, if we don’t feel confident that we have captured everything that you do we can, at our discretion, keep you longer than the 90 days until we have captured everything that you do with this job. Don’t discuss this meeting with anybody else in the company. "

I'm glad that mainstream conservatives are waking the fuck up about H1B. When it hits Breitbart it's main street news.

People are funny about this stuff. I had a woman friend who was basically pushed out of the field after 2002 or so. So she has been out of IT for a while but is going back into it. I send this article to her and got this response:

"This was written by someone who was going to be laid off in January of 2015. Why is it relevant now? I think the job situation is improving at least in some areas. I'm a case in point."

I feel like asking her if she is a retard. Just because you found a job doesn't mean its 1995 again.

Truthfully if you think about it - she is an example of why the public has no pity on IT people. They also can't seem to remember when IT in this country was not full of foreigners.

Sounds like: Thank you, sir, may I have another?

2002 --> 2015 to FINALLY re-enter the IT field says to me that IT is a dead loser of a career choice.

She's in denial because she didn't do anything constructive with the last 13 years of her career and glory be, she's FINALLY getting a coveted IT job.

(Holy SHIT is that a long time to be jobless!!!)

Be kind to her... she's in denial, she's not a retard. Some people just can't learn to save their lives.

She has had other jobs just not in IT. She ending up doing a lot of Kelly Services kind of work - executive admin kind of stuff, supervising staff... that kind of thing. But she hasnt been in IT in since 2002.

She shouldnt complain to much - when she got popped in 2002 she had enough years at Ma Bell to get a pension + lifetime medical. She started with them when she was like 16 or something. She gets like $1800/month no matter what. So even if she didnt get a top paying job she was still doing ok $. Paid off her house between 2002 and now, has bought cars. She just has been in IT.

I find it funny that after all these years of IT people getting cornholed they still dont get it.

It sounds like she won the lottery with that Ma Bell position that pays a lifelong pension (tax free?) after a layoff in 2002. (How many years was she there to get that deal?) Did she mommy track 2002-2015 in addition to temp jobs? Sounds like maybe she wasn't in a situation she didn't want to be in, maybe she didn't like the long hours of development work. Did she even apply for development jobs from 2002-2015, or just easy stress free temp stuff here and there to make extra spending money, as it's starting to sound with more details released. How did she start at Ma Bell at age 16? Presumably one of her parents worked there and got her the job? Was she a developer then? Did she start low level and Bell paid for her education to become a developer?

I would love a non-military job where I get a life long pension and full medical after a few years of work! That is very sweet!

What does everyone here think of this deal? Work a few years and then retire? Sound good?

Are you young enough and clean cut enough to be a fireman?  Are you by chance related to someone who is a fireman in California (it's not mandatory, wink, wink)?  95% of your calls won't be fire, 70% will be medical where if you aren't the paramedic you won't even do anything.  Of course, now it's 3%@55, used to be 3%@50 which admittedly is onl 90% of your final 3 year salary.  They also get lifetime medical.  They do work 24 hour shifts but that only leaves 5 days/week off.  And, did I mention that they get OT?  And the starting pay is North of $60K in most places.

Basically, you retire at 55, 90% of the average of your final 3 years, which will require some OT in those final years, and no longer can you count unused sick time and vacation for your salary, so it's not all perfect today.  Finally, there is the back problem that you will probably develop a few months before you retire but don't worry I hear it gets a lot better once you get off the truck.

I am uncertain why you talk about firemen. The issue was not about that.

Do you think Breitbart is main street news?  I hope so because real news is hard to come by today.

Mainstream conservatives have always known what's going on with H1b, but their corporate donors wanted the cheap labor so they always made excuses for it, like foreigners are better qualified, better educated, etc.  Jeff Sessions is one of the only senators that has fought for IT workers and exposed the visa exploitation by companies like Disney.  He really works for the people and has been working with Donald Trump to come up with a plan to fix the visa programs in this country.

The Disney layoff got a lot of attention because they've always been a feel-good part of the American family story.  For them to do what they did and be so despicable as to limit future job opportunities for their ex-employees is inconsistent with their company image.

This is all disturbing and at the same time, nothing new.
