Contract Orientated Job Sites

Hi,

I've been using indeed.com but I find what I'm getting back from my searches are mostly FTE or things like odesk, elance or whatever the "I've got $100 for the first dude who can...".  Is there anything out there focused on contracting?  It's used to be Dice.com and to a lesser degree Net-temps but even those don't seem too lively to me and indeed.com should be including those anyway.

Maybe I need to get better at using indeed.com or is everyone just trying to get you to go FTE and there really aren't that many contracting gigs?

I suspect that if Indeed were aware of legitimate contracting oriented job sites it would include them. My guess is that there are none.

W2 has degenerated so much to a hire-and-fire situation that I suspect that employers now are quite willing to hire someone for an alleged FTE job and cut them loose when the person has produced what they need - as opposed to hiring a relatively expensive permanent.

I think one has to find relatively decent contracting assignments on your own, directly.
