Now this is great, they replace you, lay you off and now you are supposed help when they call.

I came to the US on an H1 thirty years ago. It was a visa given to those of "outstanding merit in the arts and sciences" (that is, you needed a couple of degrees and some work experience) and the sponsoring employer needed to demonstrate to the government that I wasn't displacing a local worker.

I am not able to figure out how an H1B worker is able to directly displace local workers. Either the visa system has changed or we're ignoring one of its most important provisions.

Be Prepared.
