We have >35 megabytes of high quality discussion and commentary. Combined with the descriptive domain name, we should do well in the search engine results pages now.

Can you submit the url to Google and Bing, etc., to speed up the indexing?

I've done both.

I am noticing the last few days that there are 1-5 "guests" (non logged in web browsers or outside computers) listed in the who's online list at most times of the day.

I just enabled Apache logging on my host here and I am seeing accesses today by something call http://www.cuil.com, which is a newer search engine.

Most search engines take a few weeks to start showing results from a newer web site like this one. That has been my experience in putting up web sites in the past.

This will take time to get noticed here, no doubt.
