So, ok, good. we have some visibility just from the name change, and hopefully also through Google's eventual indexing of the new URL.

That's the Realrates page. She is using the Yuku name 'computerconsultants'.

I meant that when I tried this I saw this board on the first page of Google results, about the 7th result down.

Today when I try, it is on the third page. About 20th.

I googled on "computer consultants forum" today 04/07/09 and found us on the 1st page near the bottom.  Great improvement over where we were before (which was nowhere).

I googled on "computer consultants forum" today 5/9/09 and we turned up as the 3rd result in the list.

Great job by our forum admins.

Now people who are searching for a forum like ours will find us. Cool.

I don't even really know how to effectively measure traffic on my own business specific sites in a meaningful way, and there's no profit potential here. So I'm not interested in volunteering effort to figure out how to extract the numbers. Sorry.

I did play with this a few months ago. It appears that Yuku won't allow you to insert your own Google Analytics code - because they have their own already on all pages. So there are roadblocks here.

The measure of the success of this board is going to be participation, anyway. We're a *very* static bunch.

I tried gathering stats form the "home" page for a month or so a while back and it was a PITA.

I was hoping for some history, to see how our google ranking may have effected traffic.

I dug into the admin settings and I found pages that display board stats. Here is a charting of the number of unique visits per day, going back 3 months.

The new domain based URL was implemented on March 19 per this posting.

To me, there appears to have been little effect in terms of numbers.

All I really hoped to do with this was make us easier to find for the few people who are looking for such a place.
