Marking topics as read

Seems like now I have to explicitly mark a forum as "read" or else it will tell me that messages I have already looked it are still "new".

Did something change?

Are you logged in?  

There was some sort of server crash last night so that might have something to do with it.  For an hour or so, I would get an error message saying the server could not be found.  Al.l other sites were OK but Yuku.

Yes, I am logged in OK.

I think what's happening is that I need to open the section itself...not just click on the latest message link, to the right.
