Are animated gifs not supported as avatars? It's supposed to look like this:

Are animated gifs not supported as avatars? It's supposed to look like this:

I looked closer at the admin screen for this feature. I now have the max size in width and length to be 100x100.

The screen is saying (I think) that if you use a larger avatar, it will be resized and also changed to a JPG. (Which doesn't support animation.)

So the key appears to be to stay at or under 100 in either dimension and then it will use the original file format. It *looks* like your GIF should work since it is 100 in width.
